This is the Wordle and N Gram of Martin Luther King’s “I Have a Dream” speech.  What I first noticed did not surprise me, “freedom” is the most used word in the speech.  Dr. King was trying to convey a message of freedom and the Wordle shows us that he was able to convey this message.  I looked at the source text from 1944, one of the books that came up was called “Take Back Your Freedom.”  This can show us that the time period was all about taking back freedom.  Martin Luther King’s speech was given in 1963.  There are a lot of book that seem to be revolved around freedom in this time period.  Some examples are,  “Freedom and Capitalism”, “The Structure of Freedom”,  and “Insecurity of Freedom.”

This is the Wordle and N Gram for a section of the Declaration of Independence.  This Wordle shows us that “Government” is the word that was used the most.  This, also, is not a surprise because the government was basically being created.  It is interesting that the word “government” was used more frequently after the end of WW2 and the word “long” began to be used less after the end of WW2.  Some books that were out during the time there were many books about government control and government parties.
